However, we noticed that travel books hardly ever tell you much, many smaller places are not even mentioned, and quickly people go back home without having seen much of this unique part of France. They missed the secrets, the unknown places.
The Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrènèes are known for its special culture, its Cathar castles, its Templar history, and the enigma of Rennes-le-Chateau. But there is much more to be seen. If you are interested in pre-history, for example, you have come to a unique place in Europe. Whether you choose one of the tours mentioned below, or wish to create a special tour suited to your wishes, we can show you the region in a way no travel book can.

Some of the tours we are offering are:
Tour 1: St. Antoine-le-Desert / Galamus and the Fenouillet
In the morning we visit the beautiful rock monastery of Galamus, which seems to be glued to the rockface. A special experience!
In the afternoon we see the chapel of Notre Dame de Laval, and the remains of the castles of the Fenouillet, situated beautifully in a gorge in ancient Templar territory.
Tour 2: Rennes-le-Chateau and surroundings
Today we visit the so called Temple Valley. We visit Rennes-le-Chateau and see the enigmatic environment, including a short walk to the famous 'Devil's Chair'. The programm of today can vary, adapted to your interest. There is so much in this part of the Corbière to see! If you know nothing of the enigma of Rennes-le-Chateau, then we also have an introduction tour for you.
Tour 3: Impressions of the Pyrenees
Today we drive through Lavelanet to Tarascon-sur-Ariège. Here we visit either the cave of Lombrives, the largest cave in Europe, or the Prehistoric Park Pyréné (which one you chose).
In the afternoon we drive through the magnificent Pyrenees mountains to Ax-les-Thermes, where we spend some time exploring this pretty mountain village.
Tour 4: Haute Vallée
This tour is popular with people who come to the region for the first time. We visit the beautiful ruins of the Abbey of Alet-les-Bains, Esperaza, we go taste some wine at the Domaine st. Jacques near Couiza and visit the old village Campagne-sur-Aude, which was established in the 12th century by the Knights Templar.
Tour 5: Vive la Occitanie!
This is a cultural tour which features the culture of the Occitan people and the Cathar history. First we visit the troubadour castle of Puivert (when it is open, as it is now in private hands) and the museum Quercorb, where the medieval musical instruments are displayed.
Afterwards we drive to Montsegur, the most famous castle in the world, and we visit the small museum in the centre of the village.
Tour 6: From the Dawn of Time to Prehistory
In the morning we will visit the Dinosaurmuseum in Esperaza. Here we see many archeological and paleontological finds, and you will get a good impression of the incredible age of this part of France.
In the afternoon we drive through ancient lands to Tautavel, where we visit the Tautavel museum. Here you will see the evolution of the human race in southern-France. The Tautavel man lived approcimately 450.000 years ago in this area.

We can design a special tour to your taste, including white water rafting, wine tasting, walking, horse riding, scenic drives, power places, specific Cathar Castles or other places you would like to visit with a guide. An e-mail with your wishes can be turned into a day you will never forget!
ONE GUIDE OR GUIDE + CAR + DRIVER?
For 50 euros a day you can hire a guide to illuminate this intriguing part of France.
However, during your trip you can also have the luxury of a guide, car or mini buss/van and driver. Our price: From € 125,- per day depending on the number of people.
